None, installing for first time.

Issue Details:
I am installing FTB on my own server today for a small group of people. I've downloaded the DW20 server, installed it on my computer and it's almost running. When I log in on my client side (on my mac) I get the error, "The server requires FML/Forge to be installed. Contact the admin for details." I'm not loading the latest default startup version as it takes too long and then crashing on my mac, but it does load with any other version. I've been using 1.10.2, but it works on 1.11.2.

Any insight on this? I've been googling all day and the results are all 3 years old and irrelevant now. Any insight on this would be great. Thanks so much.
